Director

The Director is the brain of FarEarth. It directs the execution of workflows, assigning jobs to FarEarth's distributed components. The Director keeps track of data and monitors progress throughout the lifecycle of an order. It controls access to resources and your data. Your operator can monitor, control, and configure FarEarth through the interface. The Director monitors the health of each platform component.

The Director is aware of all system components and capabilities. It maintains a repository of workflow templates. The Director determines the sequence of steps in the workflow, creates jobs for each step, and assigns them to components according to their capabilities.
